3 Things All Restaurants and Bars Should Do to Market More Effectively on Facebook: "# Dave Williams Dave Williams Says:

I definitely recommend a group page for a restaurant and not a fan page. The group page messaging and event platform is much better for staying in touch with your audience where as the fan page messaging goes to the updates folder which no on reads. This is a key difference and can have a massive impact. Also, don’t forget to make use of photos from events and using these to tag patrons, bartenders, hostesses, etc. Tagging is a powerful feature especially for restaurants and events.

“I’d definitely recommend a group page and not a fan page for a restaurant…”
I wish I’d read that a couple days ago!
No problem, I deleted the first 2 facebook pages created for my restaurant equipment supply client and relied heavily on the list of options available you laid out for us.
This is so new our competitors are not going to miss the fact that I’ve had to go through 3 renditions of our facebook page.
My competitors aren’t even using blogs for SEO, they can see that I(we) took the #1 spot in Google and are wondering what happened… wait till the facebook page ranks in Google!"
